Exploring Countries: Egypt ~ Walter Simmons (2010, Bellweather Media)

Egypt (Paperback) (Blastoff! Readers: Exploring Countries)

Summary: This book is about Egypt. It has a list of topics it covers in the contents that includes information like famous body of water.
This book is part of a 20 book series.

My Review: I think this is a great book to use in a teacher-guided research project. The pictures are awesome and the students will love them. I like the series because it makes it easier to create a teacher-guided project because all books have the same table of contents and cover the same information.

About the Author: The only information that I have been able to find out about Walter Simmons is that he has written a great number of the other books in this Exploring Countries series.

Genre: Non-fiction, multicultural
Theme / Skill: Researching using a book.
Age Level: 9-12

Pre-reading Activity: Explain the research that you want the students to do with these books and create a fair system for assigning each country. Have a rubric or checklist of the information that you want the students to collect from their reading.

Post-reading Activity: After research is done, ask the students what they found out from reading their books. Have students create an informational brochure or power point for their country. Present brochures to class.
